Long considered the home of golf in America. Now
with eight outstanding courses. Pinehurst #2 is the site of this years U.S. Open.
CONTESTANTS:
- Team consists of one (1) Golf Professional and
three (3) amateurs. Amateurs are the choice of the Golf Professional and do not have to be
members of his club.
- All contestants must enter as a four (4) man team.
LODGING:
- Accommodations are at the luxurious Four Diamond
Pinehurst Resort.
GOLF COURSES:
Pinehurst #2: Designed by Donald
Ross, and is a legend in the golfing world and site of this years U.S. Open.
Pinehurst #5: Redesigned in 1998 has always been a good test of golf and
now has become a great test of golf.
Pinehurst #6: Designed by Tom Fazio in 1979 and was quickly recognized as
a great test of golf.
Pinehurst #8: Designed by Tom Fazio and opened in 1996 to rave reviews.
Site of the 1997 & 1998 PGA Club Professional Tournament.
COST:
- Contestant sharing a room $2895.00
- Contestant in a single room $3295.00
- Contestant with wife/guest $4245.00**
- Golf Professional sharing a room NC*
- Golf Professional in a single room $400.00
- Golf Professional with wife/guest $1350.00
*Golf Professional is the guest of the Tournament
Committee and will receive the same package as the amateurs plus $300.00 appearance fee in
lieu of Airfare.
**Included in the guest fee are hotel accommodations, double occupancy breakfast and
dinner daily, Welcome Reception, Awards Cocktail Party and Banquet.
INCLUDED IN COST:
- Five (5) nights accommodations double occupancy,
at the Pinehurst Resort, hotel taxes and gratuities.
- Breakfast and Dinner daily.
- Green fees and shared golf cart for four (4)
rounds.
- Cocktail Parties and Awards Banquet.
- Unlimited range balls.
- Gifts and prizes.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT:
- 72-Hole Better Ball of Partners Event in a Net
Division with amateurs competing at 85% of their current handicap: maximum of 18 strokes.
Golf Professionals compete at scratch.
- 72-Hole Better Ball of Partners Event in a Gross
Division with all players competing at scratch.
- 72 Hole Professional Championship for a total
purse of *$2500.
*($2500.00 based on 20 teams)
- All amateurs must provide proof of
handicap to compete in the Net Division.
- If a player has a handicap at more than one
course, he must use the lower handicap.
TEAM PRIZES:
- Team prizes consist of crystal engraved with the
Tournament logo.
- Prizes will be awarded in both Net and Gross
Divisions.
- No team may win in both divisions.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
- Entries must be received prior to October 1, 1999
accompanied by a deposit of $500.00 per person.
- Final payment is due October 1, 1999.
AIRFARE:
- Airfare is additional. Travel arrangements may be
made through the tournament office.
EARLY ARRIVALS & LATE DEPARTURES:
- For early arrivals and late departures please
contact the tournament office at 800-797-9464. A credit card is required to secure these
rooms.
- A limited number of tee times are available for
those staying at the Pinehurst Resort prior to the tournament.
SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITIES:
Sunday, November 7th
Arrive at the Pinehurst Resort. Golf is on your own today and is not included in the
tournament price. From 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, team registration. At 7:00 PM, Welcome
Reception and Orientation, followed by Dinner at the Resort.
Monday November 8th
Breakfast at the Pinehurst Resort. 1st round of the 72-Hole World Pro-Am. Dinner is
included at the Pinehurst Resort.
Tuesday, November 9th
Breakfast at the Pinehurst Resort. 2nd round of the 72-Hole World Pro-Am. Dinner is
included at the Pinehurst Resort.
Wednesday, November 10th
Breakfast at the Pinehurst Resort. 3rd round of the 72-Hole World Pro-Am. Dinner
is included at the Pinehurst Resort.
Thursday, November 11th
Breakfast at the Pinehurst Resort. Final round of the 72-Hole World Pro-Am. At 7PM, Awards
cocktail party followed by the Awards Banquet.
Friday, November 12th
Depart for home after breakfast.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
- Deposits will be refunded in full 35 days prior to
event.
- 34 days prior to event is subject to 50% penalty
charge of the total tournament package cost per person if a replacement team cannot be
found.
- No refunds for unused services.
